The world faces the “urgent challenge” of creating 600 million productive jobs over the next decade in order to generate sustainable growth and maintain social cohesion, according to the annual report on global employment by the International Labour Organization (ILO).

The Project’s official launch took place on 8 September 2011 at the Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine with the attendance of the Embassy of Canada to Ukraine, the Ministry of Social Policy, the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, the Ministry of Finance, the National Tripartite Social and Economic Council, leaders of the national associations of employers and trade unions, ILO officials, international projects and foundations, and the media.

The new EU-ILO project “Effective Governance of Labour Migration and its Skills Dimensions” aimed to help Ukrainian and Moldovan migrant workers was launched on 27 May 2011 in the Ministry of Social Policy, Ukraine.
